Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Just wait until they close hogs in April because the 900 or so fish are caught.
Ridiculous that we "manage" S of Hatteras to Key West the same from a rec perspective.
The commercial boats typically have the range to leave from MI and fish off the Rise/Swansboro Hole or down to Jacksonville but not a typical trip for a rec angler.
I think their plan is to close it all, get backlash, say we can fix it with trip reporting rather than guessing, then push VMS again for monitoring.

I think that within the next few years the recreational bottom fishing will be closed all together. There will still be commercial fishing quota but not recreational. Just look at flounder in NC, red snapper, heck even red porgy. Its coming.

BSB will be next. The only ones I catch now are too big for red snapper to eat. Either that or I just haven't figured out where they moved.
