Default Masonary Fireplace Flue Liner to Stove Pipe Transition thru roof?

I have a question for any of our contractors/builders

Can you build a masonary fireplace with 13"x13" flue and then use a transition piece on top of the flue to convert to stainless steel double wall stove pipe going thru the roof?

Pipe would be in and exit thru capped chimney chase on roof.

Is it doable and if so does it pass code?

Something like this that I found online

You would need to do an Isokern and run double wall from the throat out. Same look and function as a masonry fp without the masonry chimney.

Default Masonary Fireplace Flue Liner to Stove Pipe Transition thru roof?

The rest of the story is I’m trying to come up with a solution that apparently my builder is having trouble with.

I had this outdoor fireplace built on back porch under roofline. Original plan was to run brick face to porch ceiling and flue 2 ft above the porch ceiling. Then transition to stainless double wall thru porch attic, thru roof, In chimney chase and be covered with chimney cap. Chimney chase exterior will be hardie plank like house exterior.

Yes that can light will be moved and centered on fireplace.

Per my builder Lexington county building inspection won’t put in writing if they will approve it or not. I was ok with change of plans and finish bricking. Mason is done and won’t come back. Builder can’t get any local fireplace people to commit to finishing it this way. Figured I’d ask here before I tell my builder to quit being lazy and get it figured out.

Charlie send me your fireplace people so I can get it done!

    Exterior pic for reference.

Yellow is fireplace behind wall. Solid yellow is flue Blue supposed to be double wall pipe ( ~14ft.), orange chimney chase on roof.
