    Default Cost of Deck rebuild

Anyone have a ballpark estimate for a 8'x40' deck rebuild? Existing deck is over a freshwater canal. Cost would include tear out of old deck and replacement with marine grade lumber.

Be sitting down when someone chimes in that’s knows that business.

Yeah. If a wheelchair ramp is going for $18k, you may want to have some nerve pills on hand for this quote.

Speaking of the wheelchair ramp I'm waiting on an update from all the volunteers that were going to get together one weekend and build it.

    Whatever the "contractor" estimates, know:

    1) They're right

    2) You're wrong

    3) The $80K truck is 100% justified and necessary

Solid truth. Figure there is $3-5k in wood. Heck of a labor rate if cost is really $18k

LOL, point on the doll where the contractor hurt you.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Surely you see the irony? And Philip used that line in another thread (about Clemp butt-hurt, shockingly) a few days ago. You gotta allow for a "cool-off" period before regurgitating other people's stuff.

I don’t know about another thread. I do know they’re a lot of jealous bitches in this one. I respond on threads a lot less these days. See I work 60, 70, 80hrs a week so I can afford nice shit like deer rifles, fishing stuff, boats. I didn’t go to school, bust my ass all these years and learn skills others don’t possess to be poor or live paycheck to paycheck. If momma wants the Benz, momma gets the Benz. I also don’t mind reaping the rewards of taking risks and setting myself up for success. Clients see everything I do on paper before they sign a contract, it’s their choice.

Check pilings well. Could still be some rot under water. If pilings are actually good and where you want them, that could be a DIY job over a few weekends depending on your schedule.

When ours was being built 2 years ago, it was running about $1000 a foot. That was everything turn key, wiring, pilings the whole 9 yards plus a dock that can be lowered and raised via a remote control or a switch. I would imagine with some of those items already there and in serviceable shape, prob $500 a foot. Our dock was almost 70' long, simple math for final price.
