Field #2 Planted an acre or so of wheat a week ago and have about 1 acre of sesame standing and only saw 3 doves on it. Field #1 still has about 1 acre sunflowers still standing and zero on it.

    This man knows.....recycled sweet feed!
Ain't nothing in this world like a slammer feed lot shoot.
Or a corn field that cows were turned into to feed on....

    Killed a quick limit sunday,

Birds don’t like sunflowers and corn anymore. Got to have the cows.

The hands down best mallard shoot that I know of was perpetrated on a barren 1/2 acre pond on a cow pasture in Tennessee. Some say the ducks had cowshit and corn pouring out of their mouths...

bc lead shot and doves is clearly a new thing. guess it didn't have an impact when populations are stable or increasing

One of my most memorable duck hunts was a widgeon shoot on a hilltop feed lot overlooking a pond just as you describe. The only thing separating my back from mounds of cow dung was the bottom of a layout blind. It was glorious.

The lead shot poisoning has got to be misinformation. Either way, we have doves.

My Buddy checked out field and couple weeks ago and loaded, was all jacked up to hunt last Sunday am but when he went back to check few days before he saw zero . He checked it several times and nothing

I figured with all dry weather and rain forecast all the farmers and putting wheat in ground

My corn feeder at the farm is about a mile away from dove field , corn feeder is loaded with doves

We tried Saturday morning, in Kingstree. Saw maybe ten in a couple of hours. Disappointing, but fun to be out there.
