    Default wheelchair ramp price

    wheelchairramp11-540x341.jpg

my hygienists parents live in sandy run. their ramp is falling apart. need a new one.
they have been quoted something like $12K+ to build.
I have not seen it but she drew a pic. 15' ramp. 180 to another 15' ramp that 180s to an 8x16' landing area outside door. I hope this gives some of yall enough info to comment. but i also know I will get plenty of useless comments and that's ok too.

while i think every damn thing is expensive, i felt like the quote was a bit high. Obviously an elderly couple on a fixed income.

    anybody want a side gig?

Edgefield Baptist Association builds them free of charge. Maybe contact their county’s association?

I built one just like that pictured...say seven years ago for my grandmother in TR. I want to say I had about $800 in material before it was all said and done. So today it's probably $1200 in material alone.

St. Matthews First Baptist Church also used to have a wheelchair ramp group. Being as this is in Calhoun County, you could always reach out to them as well.

I just built that exact ramp on one of the plantations here, I had $3k in materials without the carpet on top. 2th, your number isn't far off.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Lots of church groups do projects like this. If you were closer, I might could help you out with some contacts. Local church does it for those that are and aren’t able to pay. Some people are able to pay but just can’t get anyone to take on small projects like that in a timely manner. A lot of those people pay for materials and donate a little extra to help the cause. They try to get donations from other places as well. What you are describing is not really a cheap project. Some shovel and post hole digging work involved as well.

2th, if it comes down to it, I will donate and help build. Not at 12k-13k, but at what the materials actually cost

It might be cheaper just to have the deck and with a little ramp and get an electric wheelchair.

I hope y'all weekend diyers realize there are codes to ramps such as 1 foot of run for every inch of rise that's why they usually have landings due to space limitations. The last ramp I built for a lady at church cost me 6 grand but it was worth it because her husband was able to start going to church again. There are church organizations that build them .

Then go do it on a weekend for your side job price. Contractors have to pay for materials, labor to install, workers comp (if you stroked the check I did this week, you’d understand that one), general liability, license fees, bonds, tools, trucks, more insurance, fuel, permits, plan review, engineering and on and on. Bubba charging $25/hr ain’t making enough to live on.
