    SLED: Woman mutilated before set on fire in Cordova home
    Associated Press

    CORDOVA, S.C. - A woman was mutilated and dismembered before her body was set on fire in a Cordova home, according to the State Law Enforcement Division.

    Ruby Thompson, 31, was found dead Tuesday morning after a fire started as deputies were called to the home.

    While authorities haven't received an autopsy report, a SLED agent says in a sworn statement that Thompson's boyfriend cut up her body in his home before piling stuff on top of it and setting it on fire Tuesday morning.

    Oscar Beecher McDowell, 28, was arrested in woods near the home and is charged with second-degree arson. More charges could follow after investigators review the autopsy report, Orangeburg County Sheriff Larry Williams said.

    One of Thompson's friends said McDowell had a temper.

    "I was at her store one day after they closed and he came by. He started pounding on the door so hard, I thought he was going to break it," LaToya Edwards said. "Ruby wouldn't let him in and you could tell he got madder and madder. He eventually left, but then kept calling back."

    McDowell is a registered sex offender and has previous drug and fraud charges, according to SLED.

    But I have to ask...Why would this dumbass be in the woods near her home afterwards? I dont think this will end up being a TV movie but if it does I am sure Meridith Baxter Burney will play the beaten woman.

    My wife watches that Lifetime BS channel- I always ask her if Meridith Baxter Birney has gotten her ass beat in this one yet- Hell she has been beat more than James Browns wife, Farrah Fawcett and Mary Stewart Masterson put together.

    My lil 5 yr. old daughter was sick last week and as I was leaving for work shes on the couch watching LMN movie first thing in the AM- I made her turn it to cartoons- aint no use in her watching such crap as that.

    Police: Mutilated woman also shot up to 12 times

    CORDOVA, S.C. - A woman found mutilated and burned in a Cordova home also had been shot up to 12 times, Orangeburg County deputies said.

    Authorities added a murder charge Thursday to a count of second-degree arson against 28-year-old Oscar Beecher McDowell after reviewing autopsy and other reports that indicated the victim may have been shot as many as a dozen times with a large-caliber weapon, Sheriff Larry Williams said.

    The body of 31-year-old Ruby Thompson was set on fire as deputies approached McDowell's home Tuesday morning, Williams said.

    Thompson's hands were cut off, her legs were nearly severed and her genitals had been mutilated, the sheriff said.

    McDowell, who was arrested near his home Tuesday, is a registered sex offender and has previous drug and fraud charges, according to the State Law Enforcement Division.

    "In my 30 years as a law enforcement officer, I've seen all types of hideous crimes and removal of limbs," Williams said. "This one has to be the most heinous that can happen. I couldn't remember one worse."

    I have seen MBB get her ass beat on TV on atleast 4 occasions-not just spanked but a real ass whoopin-- I think she likes it. She is the Susan Lucci of ass beaten wife syndrome.
