    Default Summerville Eats

Visiting family in a few weeks and was looking to hit a few spots to eat at that y’all recommend.

So, what are y’alls favorite places to eat around that area? (my wife’s favorite is ribs, so that would be a bonus)

Also, would like to find a place to try fried oysters that won’t give me the Shites.

    Thanks.

If you're going to Page's just be ready to wait. I have been there three times (1100, 1230, 330) and every time had to jump the curb and park in the grass. It's insane how crowded it is. Our service also sucked one of those times but that was on the waitress and not Page's as a whole

I wanted to add Oscars so bad but the last few times we have been there, it wasn’t what it used to be.

Montreuxs does have a good brunch.

Poogans was average last time we were there. Hopefully Poogans and Oscars get better. Oscars is a long time staple in Summerville.

I appreciate the heads up on the wait time a Page's. (menu and pic's look good) Also, thanks for the curb jumping tip as well.

    Icehouse
Avoid Laura if looking for Italian....head to La Rustica.
Bexleys Raw Bar...as good if not better than 167 Downtown.
    Second/Third Swig & Swine.
Evas or Chas Deli for breakfast.

That's good to hear about Bexley's. I haven't been there yet, but it is now on the short list

Antica Napoli pizza is legit if you’re in the mood for NY style.

    Pretty good list above.

Solid advice on LaRustica. Ambience and food are incredible. A converted historic house under grand oaks. Really nice patio dining

Swig and Swine is also a solid for rib, brisket, etc. If you really like smoked meats, this is your place. Nice seating inside, outside deck with tables. Nice selection of brown liquor at the bar.

Palmetto Flats is a sleeper. Not much ambience in the restaurant but the bar is good. They have a pretty good chef; entrees are excellent and the "bar food" is real good. The only place that makes fried okra better than my momma.

Oscar's. A long time Summerville restaurant. Even on a bad day, it's good.

I'll add 5 Loaves Cafe. Another historic house conversion. Good food, nice bar.

Fish camp is good food. Decent location a few miles outside of town

One for my friends that were born with a plastic spoon in the mouths, Kickin Chicken on Main St.
Open restaurant, bar area has big windows that open to the patio. Consistently the best wings around, decent sandwiches and salads. Beer and mostly good folks hanging out.

I could go on, but I just gained 5 pounds typing that list up.

We like Matts burgers right behind main street. Lowcountry fish camp is good, Benny's is a good pizza. Def Eva's for breakfast or lunch.

Was just in Summerville for work. Ate at low country fish camp for lunch. Was very good. Also ate at a Mexican joint north on 17. Can’t think of the name. Was very good. Also ate at pages one night. Was very good. We ate at bar and no wait on table or any trouble finding a parking spot. Will definitely go back there next time I’m in Summerville.

Bakers BBQ has awesome ribs also. If you want seafood I’d drive 30 minutes to Charleston then waste your time in Summerville.

Gonna toss in my favorite go to in downtown Summerville, Icehouse. The daily specials are usually damn good and their mainstay are excellent. Good beer and beverage choices as well. Lowcountry fish camp and Pages are solid options, as is Oscars.

I have been to the Icehouse, its good. I also like the Shuckin' Shack. I have heard that Le Chev (french) and La Rustica (Italian) are good as well, haven't tried them yet.

Slow at work. Boss is gone. So I have enjoyed searching up all of these different recommendations.

I appreciate the suggestions, a few places came up a couple times from different people and that is nice to see.

Looks like I need a longer trip to get in all these places. Shame I can't catch a race while I'm out there as well.

Also heading into Edisto one day and gunna make the stop by King's.
