I frankly think it's getting worse overall. Based on what I see going on within the families of friends. In the last 4 to 6 weeks:
    • One friend lost her father (elderly) and his sister (elderly) within two weeks of each other.
    • One friend lost her grandmother to it
    • One friend lost her sister (mid-50s) to it
    • One friend just lost her mother (late 50s, Lyme disease being the only other issue) to it after two weeks in ICU
    • Son's old HS coack just got put in ICU.
    • Sister in law works at a local family practice. They are treating IN OFFICE with O2 and IV's due to lack of space at the hospital.

The new mutation out of South Africa has the potential to make this much worse. No more lethal, but much more contagious. Even if the death rate stays the same as the current strain, do the math...

My SIL says it's time to diligently mask up, and she thinks it works. She's the medical professional and I will trust her. I don't see it (never have...) as any kind of political plot, but I do think that we are still figuring out what this thing does and does not do. I"m 58 years old. I'm taking precautions and waiting for the shot. I'm in group 1B so it should be relatively soon.

My opinion is the masks can’t work that well. Everywhere you go you have to wear a mask and the numbers aren’t coming down. It’s hard for me to believe they do much good

I agree. I don’t wear the mask. Start looking at all the people who are wearing them versus who is not when you go somewhere. I guarantee the number is greater than 85% of people wearing them, yet it’s still increasing. I get that there is a virus, but it’s almost like life as we have known it no longer exists. No such thing as the stomach bug anymore, no such thing as a sinus cold, no such thing as just feeling bad for a couple of days. If you have any symptoms of any kind of sickness everyone thinks it’s Covid related. I’m just tired of it

I tested positive on Wednesday and we are in quarantine. The only issues I’ve had, have been sinus infection related and real tired. My mom, dad, sister, wife, and kids have all had the same symptoms, but none of them have tested positive.

I did the swab test, not the rapid one. I don’t know if I really have it, if I’m contagious, or where I got it, but I’m guess we’re laying low for a few more days.

Its crazy how some people respond to it, we had a friend that was 34 that just passed but my 80 year old grandfather and my wife's grandparents have all gotten it and are doing fine and recovering fairly well

You can smell a fart through blue jeans and a pair of underpants. No way a shitty cloth or paper mask does anything.

I keep hearing the blood type argument.

Type A - Affects you the most
    Type B - middle
Type O - affects you the least

You can smell a fart still because the size of the molecule which is a group of molecules called thiols which have a stinky aroma and are smaller than the virus.COVID is a protein which is way bigger than a molecule and it’s usually attached to other proteins when exhaled and the mask captures those due to static cling and other ways.

So why are the numbers skyrocketing with masks being worn in the majority of situations?

Once my wife and I get over it we will return to life as before we were sick I’m sorry for those who have had it worse than we have but I’ve had the flu that was way worse than this.

Flu cases are down this year due to everyone wearing masks and social distancing, however Covid cases are on the rise because we aren't wearing our masks and social distancing

I work in a hospital operating room. We had to do a procedure on a patient not a elective surgery patient was positive for Covid 19. Out of the five people in the operating room three of us got Covid. I’m here to tell you it is very contagious! You might get and only have mild symptoms or you might end up on a ventilator

My one year old got sick on Christmas morning. She woke up about 2am with a fever of 101 and a snot factory. This went on for about 72 hours with the fever. She tested negative 36 hours in. She is just today back to normal.

4 year old got sick Thursday and it hit her FAST. 8am she was fine and wide open, 9am she said her throat hurt, 10:30 she was 101, 11am she tested positive. We are just under 72 hours in with her and she just got meds again with 100.9 fever.

At that point the pediatrician assumed the first kid’s test was a false negative......don’t ask me why....

The wife and I have had headaches, light body aches and periods of tiredness that isn’t usual. We have not been tested nor will we most likely at this point. Really don’t see the reason.

10 quarantine per CDC and my work with no test......we are on day 3

I’ll probably lay low for 14 days but we shall see

Well wife and I are now quarantined, seems like every year after Christmas I end up with very bad cold congestion This year it hit her Wednesday, When wife gets stuff it settles in her chest so she went to Dr and they did rapid test on her and it was negative . Gave her a Z pack, inhaler and prescription cough syrup. She is already feeling better

Well I had that deep cough develop Thursday/Friday . Congestion as well, no fever or chills . Wife told me to call my Dr and get z pack, emailed him and he told me more than likely same as her URI Called me in Z Pack and some pills for cough. He and I talked about COVID, he suggested go ahead and get a test as well. No rapid tests in Anderson that I could find but my Sister in Law (management w Anmed and has COVID as well right now ) told me to go to Labtec this am. They did test while I sat in truck but 24-72 hrs before I have results

So now we are quarantined till then

I am like most, when this stuff hit I kind of laughed or shrugged it off but I have seen how bad it can be on some people that otherwise seem very healthy. No rhyme or reason . Lost a couple of long time clients in last month to it, one healthy as a horse

I started Z pack this afternoon and cough pills. other than occasional hard cough I am fine

Sis in Law is having fever spike every night and has chills and wakes up soaking wet, told me during the day she is ok for most part

Did start taking Vit C, D and zinc last week, this seems to be about the only thing the “experts” say may help plus it will help during the winter with immunity

I am 58 yrs old so yes I am at that age

    Stay safe my friends

Daughter in law is a CT tech at Anmed, she texted me Monday night and said it is bad, people on gurneys in the hall and rooms are full and no where to put people. She said then you add the people that come to ER’s for Dr’s on top of all that . Told me when she got in her car to go home she actually broke down and cried a few minutes

Guys please take this stuff seriously

That 10 days from CDC is only if you can isolate the person that has Covid. Since it’s a child you can’t do that. They told us we had to either do 20 days (10 days for the covid persons quarantine, then 10 more days for the negative people). Or you could test after 7 days of contact from the positive test and get out of quarantine. Makes sense if you think about it

Both of my parents (early 60’s) are positive. My Mom was exposed from a coworker and did not show any symptoms until 8 days after exposure. She is on week 2 and is still not feeling well but making it. My Dad tester positive today after 3 days with symptoms. He has 102 fever, nausea, body aches and no appetite at all. Have not seen them in two weeks but thanking God they are alive and seem to be doing ok, at this point. My wife was at lunch with my Mom and Moms coworker the same day my Mom was exposed. My wife sat beside the infected person and does not have it. She has type O blood.
