Seeing these soulless vanilla ice lookin Yankees on a bassboat is worse than watching a woman get her implants taken out. It's just wrong. Get back in your Lund and go back to infisherman.

Anyone that would eat a spottail would surely ride in a golf cart

They would probably like BBQ chicken, egg salad sandwiches and cold beer but that's not what we're talking about here boozie.

DT, what is the first graph? I'm against this at first glance. Anecdotally, I don't see a need for a reduction in current limits,

The first graph shows the decline in population.

The second shows a decline in the average age.

That's not my takeaway after a cursory look. It looks like there's some periodicity, but my conclusion isn't that the average age is in a general decline. Also, do you have a source for this data?

I need to track down the old Redfish biologist tomorrow and chat.

Who is keeping all the fish? I know quite a few fisherman and most release every drum they catch. I think they should look at the commercial netting practices over recreational catch.

I would agree, but isn't commercial fishing for Red Drum illegal in SC?

Carolina, pretty sure it is harvested regularly in NC. If you go to restaurants in fla and NC they serve redfish. Either way, I would bet a few commercial boat hauls would be more than all of us combined would ever harvest as long as you excluded kayakks.

    Couldnt help it.

Pamlico Sound looks like flooded timber in some places with all the gill nets staked out. Outer Banks could rival Venice, LA for spottail fishing if they eliminated inshore gill netting.
