If you got a cylinder, hoses, control valve with relief valve. Bring it on we can fab one up.

I don't want another engine to maintain and less of my friends will ask to borrow a 3pt hitch splitter.

Northern Tool has the best looking one I've found online. It has a bunch of good reviews with no really bad ones. It's also one of the least expensive ones I've found.

$750....about half the price of one with an engine and wheels.

Don't forget to add $80 or so for hoses and couplings.

    It does look nice.

I just prefer to be able to pull up to a tree way off in the woods with the 4wheeler and split all I can handle.

And you can't do that with a tractor with bucket and the above mentioned log splitter?

How you gonna get all that wood home on a four wheeler turbo? That would work great with my tractor and front end loader to bring the wood to the house once split.
