I would think it is no different than hunting deer over a pile of corn.

what about using the corn flavored "baitcloud" during duck season? It isn't technically corn, and everyone fishes when the duck hunting is slow

But similar to bait balls and skrimps which is only legal under very strict guidelines and special permit.

My diddy will soak corn and wheat in water in a bucket till it gets offensive. Then he puts it in a nylon laundry sack what has holes in it and places 5-6 in strategic spots out in front of his dock.

There's nothing new about chumming, except now they make a pill for it.

I've got a feeder on the pond. It will indeed draw fish and get them in a feeding frenzy but it's surprising how quickly the fish learn not to bite anything that looks the slightest bit different. I've tied food pellet flies that look just like the real thing and they still balk if it sinks differently or sits too low in the water. Lures like beetle spins only work a few times before they wise up. I don't know how they communicate the danger but it's uncanny.

When I was in high school, my buddy had a pond like that. We found that pieces of a brown bass worm cut to match the size of the pellets worked great.

I've got a dog food and corn spot.. Growing up here, during the summers I corned the mess out of a couple places. I'd corn one place for carp, sweeten it up with a can of cream corn about an hour before, and get out there with an old dough recipe.. that shit is fun on light tackle.. you have to watch out for people though.

We mainly fished the deep holes in front of the dock. The lake was down, we could cast to them, if not, we let the baits go, nonetheless. Caught a lot of big catfish, some striper. It was a good time, probably the best for us. I wish we'd draw the lake down.
