Then spray down with scent killer before walking in. I also carry a small bottle and spray down a few times in the stand.
IMO, None of that makes a difference if a deer gets downwind of you. I've done all of that and got busted more times than I care to count.

That's why I climb as high as I do in a climber. They never smell me. Ever. Once I'm at 40+ feet.

I keep my clothes as scent free as possible but dress at the house in the morning. I don't put my boots on until I get to the woods, use a little scent killer or cover scent. A good shooting rifle, comfortable boots, a Thermacell and a small chair usually gets me 2-3 WMA deer a year.
If a hunter wants to use all of this new technology in pursuit of a big buck, more power to him and I hope he kills a big one, I reckon we are all looking for something a little different when we're in the deer woods. The chance of killing a big one is always there for me but a 80-90lb. doe is my preferred meat animal. A set of horns is pretty cool and I've killed a few nice ones over the years, I just don't fixate on it like some folks do. It's more enjoyable that way.

I don't know why you even worry about it.

The deer your shooting at are so young they have never smelled a human.

Heck they probably haven't even lost their spots yet.

But by god you will have meat in the freezer Bo.

in my opinion, you cant win with scent free spray, changing at the stand into clothes that have been in pine needles and fennel, and using doe piss like you would deodorant. I stink (to a deer). Sure, you can "play the wind" but I bet half of you internet posers have already made up your mind which stand you want to sit and, by God, you will sit there even on a marginal wind. This is magnified in the heat of the summer when the winds are swirling. I swear---you cant win! although I try like the rest of you....

That being said, I read an article about the ozonics and other "gizmos" like that. I was beyond impressed with the data. The ozonics works very very well.

    I still aint buying one....

I didn't realize we were talking about rifle hunting. Why worry about your scent when you're rifle hunting??

They work. Will you get busted with it from time to time, yes, but you will not get blown out.
If you're careful, you can get by with just about anything.

I'm just looking forward to the "he ain't big, but he's meat in the freezer" crowd to rear its head on the book of faces. Mercy, some of you guys put a lot of effort into killing a deer.

This is getting over complicated, play the wind and go kill deer. If the wind is wrong hunt a different stand or bring a rifle.

Just don't use it with pop up blind, decoy, SWD or 3.5" ammo. That would be unfair, unethical and gay.

SilentWeapon is on to something. Guy who ran a club i was in a few years back never did anything for cover scent other than smoke swisher sweets in the stand, or something similar. Killed tons of deer, and big ones at that.

You're a "special" kind of dumbass aren't you? You should work on your critical thinking skills and realize that every rifle hunter doesn't hunts fields or power lines. I've probably killed 65-70 deer with a rifle over the years. The average shot was 40-60 yards. And I can guarandamntee you that I've wounded less deer with a rifle than your dumbass has with an arrow.

Go drink a bottle of doe piss dumbass.

It did come across that way didn't it? Fact is though, it doesn't take a lot of effort to call a dumbass a dumbass. I mean hell, we're talking about Arrowman aint we?
