    Default Puppy eating habits

Ok guys need some help I'm at my wits end. I have an 11 week old puppy that's consumes her food way too fast only to get sick after. I have tried the gobble stopper, special bowls, bowl with objects in it including covering her food with ice. Now we are using a muffin pan and all items work for about two feeding and then she figures out to just dump it over with or another way around it. Will this just go away in time I worry about bloat as she swells up pretty good. The only things that works is feeding her by hand and I can't do that forever. Any help would be great.

Scatter the food out like chicken scratch. She'll have to pick it like a chicken.

How many times a day do you feed her and how much? We have 12 week old lab and he scarfs his down in one gulp it seems like but haven't had any issues. We feed him 3 times a day.

I feed her twice a day 1/2 cup each time.

If she had all she could eat in a gravity feeder she will learn there is plenty.

If she had all she could eat in a gravity feeder she would eat herself to death hahaha. I've got two others and 8 and 5 yo but never seen a dog like her when it comes to food.

I let my dog choice feed. There is always food available. They eventually learn that they don't have to scarf.

I'd rather my dog eat his food as soon as I put it down. It helps on hunting trips and other different situations.

Out of frustration I have not proud of it but damn food is to expensive to just throw it back up.

I have done this a few times but really don't won't to spend the next 15 years (I hope) throwing her food on the ground. Thanks for the advice guys.

Get the biggest food bowl you can find or a cooking sheet. My knuckle head does the same thing. His bowl is probably 12" across the bottom. It basically keeps him from getting to much in one bite. I feed twice a day. I would rather him scarf it down than pick at it. Like h.h. said, when you are chasing birds out of state it's nice to put it down and them eat.

I've never seen any harm in it as long as they eat it again immediately. If not it gets picked up and they don't eat that day. Try a knobby bowl in a food stand so she can't flip it. I've seen some grow out of it and I've seen a twelve year old deaf male that eats every meal like a race.

Is that enough food?? Doesn't seem like it. 1 cup a day for a puppy?
