i would go with the injection instead of the cream. you will be shocked how much better you will feel. mine was around 300.
Its TRT, I think women have HRT.

Here is the problem. once you start "replacement" therapy, you body produces even less and you are reliant on it for life. There is a new alternative that doctors are moving to. Its prescribing Clomid. I can't remember the science off hand, but basically it blocks some receptors and the end result is that it tricks your body in to producing testosterone itself. You can then come off of the script and monitor test levels.

IN MY OPINION AFTER TALKING TO A BOARD CERTIFIED UROLOGIST, is that "low T" is a normal aging response and that the "condition" was brought on by big pharma.

I believe clomid binds to estrogen receptors and increases FSH. Pretty popular in the steroid world, to use after a cycle to boost your body's own testosterone production, that and tamoxifen.
Definitely want to avoid the cream. And I would second that you should try clomid before going straight to test. Also, if you are considering having kids, you should have that discussion with your doc before starting therapy. There is an injection they can give you along with the test to help with sperm production.
Also, Test enanthate seems to work better for most, although most docs seem to RX Test cypionate. Half lifes are about the same, but users report better results with the enanthate.

Yes work out 5 days a week, mainly cardio and bodyweight exercises. Pushup, pullups dips and squats and lovely burpees. Could use to lose 25lbs, but seem to keep it on no matter what. Mainly in gut as well. Day shift and get 8-9 hours sleep, not all steady though as I have to pee

Chronic Cardio = Low Testosterone
As I wrote about last Friday, chronic cardio produces an abundant amount of cortisol, which makes us prone to fat storage, muscle loss, and the degeneration that comes with it. One of the reasons cardio burns muscle is because cortisol competes with testosterone – when one is secreted, the other is inhibited. A more favorable testosterone to cortisol ratio (T:C) promotes muscle growth and tissue repair, while a higher proportion of cortisol promotes muscle and tissue loss.
Cortisol is catabolic (muscle death), and testosterone is anabolic (muscle birth).
Since cortisol increases steadily throughout a workout and testosterone peaks at 20-30min, the longer an exercise bout the more unfavorable the T:C ratio. Likewise, the shorter and more intense the workout, the higher the testosterone and lower the cortisol.
No offence to the informed ladies, but this is usually the part where a woman stands up and says:
“I think I’ll stick to cardio, because I don’t want more testosterone.”
Despite the negatives we already discussed regarding cortisol, women hear ‘testosterone’ and they assume it means they’ll turn into a man.
“I just want to get toned.”
If they only realized that getting requires muscle building and maintenance and fat removal – exactly the opposite of what aerobic training produces. Which ‘toned’ body was it you had in mind?

Women simply do not have the testosterone to become muscular like a man, or like a bodybuilder.
Males, have as much as 8 times the blood concentration and 20 times the daily production of testosterone.
Testosterone is both anabolic (tissue building) and androgenic (masculine characteristics), and fortunately ‘legal’ training will only lead to increases in anabolic testosterone for women. Also worth noting, is that research suggests women are impacted more from cortisol secretion during exercise (perhaps because of their lower testosterone?).
Your nutrition, training, and lifestyle plan should focus on facilitating a favorable Testosterone-to-Cortisol ratio to support muscle growth and maintenance. This translates to a higher metabolic rate, lower fat storage rate, and decreased risk of degenerative disease (like osteoporosis) and mortality. When it comes to exercise, this means keeping your workouts short and intense and focusing on building instead of burning…
..and if you need to go far, WALK there.

They ain't selling 5 billion dollars worth the stuff cause it don't work. Feel depressed, lethargic, no energy, no sex drive, no more morning wood? If you been diagnosed, I'd check into it further. And for you that don't know what your levels are, 60 -70 dollar test will tell you if you wanna know.

bullshit, everlast. Many of you have decided to believe every damn thing you read.....selectively. You find a web site or crossfit gym that agrees with what you WANT to believe and you think its gospel. I think that is a slippery slope. i might even coin my own term. I am thinking "concept creep" but that's already taken.

Let me just tell a story. I am not a doctor. I am not telling the original poster that he doesnt need medical help. Mollie will be along shortly to poo-poo everything I say because he is already biased against what I post....and that's ok. But I do enjoy being the voice of reason and know damn well that "LOW T" is bunk.
Talk to someone who has been on a steroid. Ask them how they felt. Did you feel better? Did you feel awake and alert? Did you even shake a little you were so "wired?" I bet they will say YES. So, are these POSITIVE attributes of the meds? Are they treating a specific disease or is it labeled a "syndrome?"
Talk to someone who has taken adderall. Ask them if they liked themselves on that med. Ask them if they got more work done. Ask them if they had more energy. Ask them if they liked it.
So now we have a middle aged guy who is complaining of having less energy than normal. Put him on testosterone. I dont care if its cream or injection....its TESTOSTERONE. Ask him how he feels. I bet he feels "better." More energy. Jacked up? Ready to take on the world? I bet so.
So, was the medicine the key? What disease did the patient have?
Many today look to the pharmaceutical world for a pill. A quick fix. An answer. I would love to take adderall, a steroid, and rub some cream on my willy every damn day. For what? My disease?
To the original poster: one thing I like about this sub-forum is that most are trying to lead a healthier lifestyle through diet and exercise. I am holding onto hope that this is the wave of the future. We need to understand what we put into our bodies and how it effects us. Some people tend to migrate towards a specific person or mentor and follow them closely. Just be careful with what you read, here and elsewhere. Find a general physician that you trust, and preferably one who "practices what he preaches" in terms of overall health and wellness. I happen to have a close friend who is a urologist so I asked him about "Low T" and he said "docs and pharmaceutical companies sure are making a mint off of middle aged people that arent as healthy as they could be." I appreciated his candor.
Do some more research and get a second opinion.
