    Default Turkey season 2015

I'm finally on a plane back east for the last time. The only way to describe my 2015 turkey season is to say that I had tons of opportunity and the closure rate was difficult to beat. It seemed like in 2014 I had a hard time finding gobbling birds. This year it seemed like they were everywhere I went. Luck of the draw I reckon. I hunted alone only one morning, and was able to call a lot of birds for friends. I hunted a few southeastern states and a few out west. I appreciate my wife allowing me to act like a complete fool for another spring. I'm exhausted.

Jealousy is an awful thing and makes people do crazy things, so just know that all of these birds clearly were not shot by me and all birds were handled/tagged in accordance with the regulations in the state where they were killed.

Man o man. That is a couple of levels above a good season.
I'd like to hear two stories.
    1. The turkey with the tail feathers blown off. Shooter is holding what looks like the last two feathers.
    2. The black bear.

Thanks Jenks. Our hunt on the 17th is what got the ball rolling. That was a great bird in a pretty spot.

The feathers are just par for the course for Bad Luck Brett. We were struggling out west, and had to hunt turkeys in unconventional ways. Brett failed to make a clean initial kill and after some running and shooting, was attempting to reduce the bird to possession. He has heard to step on them, he just stepped on the wrong end.

Ian took the bear pic last week. We saw a few of them in the country we were hunting. They were much less dangerous than the hillbilly's.

Boozer, I'm pretty sure you saw more turkeys die this spring than anyone I know (even folks that guide for a living). Another one in the books and I enjoyed getting the play by play through my iphone!
