    Default Food plot must

Got one of these things last week from this guy in Livingston. He takes old john deere grain drills and cuts them down and puts them on a 3 pt hitch. I planted almost 3 acres of soybeans today with this thing and only used one 50lb bag of seed. I plant about 15 acres in food plots every year and I'm hoping it will pay for itself after a few years with helping me stretch my seed further. Not really a must as the title states but it works great. Just thought Id share

50 lbs over 3 acres isn't thick enough. You need to plant 40-50 lbs/ acre

hell, tape over a few of the holes and you would use even LESS seed. Just think of the savings!!!

It dropped a seed about every 4 inches and each row is 7 in apart. I didn't skip any areas. Maybe it was as big as I'm guessing. Can't you measure areas on google earth pro?

Maybe so. It was out in the middle of a giant field. Regardless I was impressed with the little drill

Yea, you just mis-estimated your area.

    Drills>everything else, for sure.

    Mackie Tyler!!

    Old man is a hoot..

Drank a beer with him in Nebraska at Olie's Big Game on Cinco de Mayo Last year..

Turns out he used to ride to work with some guys that were friends with my Grandfather..

Anyhow, his stuff looks sporty, carry on..

Yes sir. Mickie Tyler. Hell of a nice old man for sure and he wouldn't let me leave until he showed me his operation and made me drink 2 bud lights which I was happy to oblige. That man has been everywhere and done everything, just wait and he will tell you.
