    Default Ground Bees

Yellow Jackets/Ground Bees - whatever you want to call them.

Call me a pussy, but little jokers lit my ass up cutting the grass about a month ago. Stung several times when I ran the mower over their hole. They got a healthy dose of gasoline - problem solved.

Was cutting the grass earlier and noticed one flying out of an ivy hedge we have. ran by it again and they were everywhere. I stopped the mower, and went the other way. They calmed down a bit, but with their hole being in the ivy - I cant seem to get any gas directly in the hole as I am not exactly sure where the hole is within the ivy. can only see where they go in and out of the bushes.

    Any suggestions?

    This right here.

They don't wanna fly at night... but they will.

Get you a light and piss 'em off a bit after dark. That'll tell you where the hole is.

    Come back with your gas.

going to go after them at night. I thought about the spray can as well, but cant get that directly into the hole either. little jokers have a pretty nice set up where they are. may take a couple of stings in the ass, but will resolve.

They will still lite your ass up at night. They will chase your flash light if you use one, believe that. Also they have a second entrance if its a big colony. Gas kills on contact, wasp spray will kill them but not as quick. Good luck.

Wait 'til dark - stick a garden hose in the hole - run - turn on the water - run some more.

Give it 15 or so minutes before turning the hose off. This works every time. I don't think it kills 'em but I think they believe they've built in a flood plane and move on their own.

Not sure about the rest of the state, but I see less yellow jackets than I used to.

As to the above, attacking them at nighttime is the best method. Gasoline is more fun though.

It thought ground bees were bad until I got stung by one hornet the other day in the back of the head. I had to take a knee it hurt so bad. I got dizzy from the pain. It just keep hurting for hours. I counld not imagine being stung more than once. It would kill you.

Fuck those bastards...all of them. I got into a nest while fishing a couple months ago and ended up swimming in the pond with our resident gator.

I'd gas all the ivy. Anything to get rid of them. I was breaking up some new ground for a small food plot last year when one popped me. Didn't think about it but I had run over their nest. The second time I looped around they were swarming like crazy.
