They ain't gunna be bunch up like that now, or you could fill all you tags in one hunt... Nice gobblers.
Damn. Did I count 13 or 14 longbeards?
rip Dakota
Try 16 or 17
You've got one life. Blaze on!
They spread far and wide come April, but that was the most longbeards I had ever seen together at one time....I count 17 for sure

That's pretty sneaky to set up all those decoys like that...
Not too many years ago I remember seeing 31 turkeys in my back meadow one Sunday morning. These past few years I'm lucky to see 2 or 3 at one time, although I do occasionally hear them in the area. It's like they've disappeared... or crossed into the 4th Dimension or something.

Populations are down in a lot of areas no doubt about it... 2, 3, 4 year old birds are getting slimmer. I haven't seen but a few Jakes in the past 3 years. On camera or in person. I don't see near as many birds while out driving. Turkey sign has just about disappeared on some properties I hunt, and the harvest has been very low on these properties over the years. 1-2 gobblers a season. There are no hens left much less gobblers. Hope we have a really good hatch this Spring. Laugh it up but we need it bad in some areas. I'm glad I got 10 tags still though

Yotes been eating well on everything Turkey for awhile now and the water hasn't helped.

Strick9's right. High water isn't good for the swamp gobblers I like to hunt.
No question about those possibilities.
The 1000+ acre property next to me has had a trapper working the 'yotes for the last three seasons and he's taken almost 100 out. I would have hoped that would help, but the last few years have been pretty lean. I haven't seen or heard a turkey in the surrounding woods yet this year and they've roosted in the pine thicket about 100 yards from the house for the last 20 years I've lived here. Beats me what's going to be here in a few weeks.

On the way home from Ralph's last Sunday morning I past a field that had to have 75-100 birds in it. They were spread out over 100 yards. Didn't slow down to count/look for gobblers, but I saw at least 2.
They will bounce back in 3-5 years once the yotes are removed. I remember a couple of years back when damn near this whole board jumped on me saying no way do yotes have an effect on Turkeys.. even after I posted a hand full of yote shit full of Turkey wing quills and even a spur. They devastate Turkeys, Deer and quail amongst other of my favorite cuisines no doubt about it.
