Default No more over the counter turkey tags

Saw a news release yesterday that no tags will be issued at stores like Haddrells. All tags will be mailed from Columbia or can be picked up at DNR facilities. Little bird also told me that limit will be reduced to three birds starting 2016. Just a heads up!

I feel like it is inevitable that 2016 will be a statewide season and 3 bird limit.

I just don't understand how this would affect the turkey population whatsoever. It's just stupid

Personally I am glad to hear this. The tags I don't really care becaus they send me my tags anyway. It's easier for me don't have to go get them. The three bird limit I love. I have been sayig for a long time that we needed to go to a three bird limit in sc. And you can say it's because I can't kill 5 birds but my beard and fan box says otherwise.

I wish they would issue 3 tags and then allow you to request 2 more once those are used. The majority of tags issued aren't used. I, like many others have numerous place to hunt and my killing 5 turkeys scattered all over the state will not affect the population.

Dang. Hate to hear that. End of an era. Glad AL is sticking to the 5 bird, month and a half season. Where is that Duck Tape fella when you need him?

If they're worried about the population why don't they leave the 5 bird limit alone but change it to 1/day. That in itself would lower the total harvested bird #'s. I love punching 5 tags and never raped the resource since it was done over multiple properties.

The extra tag for archery only is a bunch of bullshit.
