Default Home Defense - Bird Shot

Most rooms in a home are 15' or less. This confirms what I've always said.

The Elites don't fear the tall nails, government possesses both the will and the means to crush those folks. What the Elites do fear (or should fear) are the quiet men and women, with low profiles, hard hearts, long memories, and detailed target folders for action as they choose.

anything is better than nothing-but a 3' deep flesh wound wouldn't even slow down some people- and wouldn't even penetrate the fat on some folks.

Just shoot em' with the bird shot. I can promise you that if you start firing rounds in the dark at close range that you're more than likely going to hit your target somewhere and cause him to rethink his actions.

I hear what you are saying, but are you shooting solids, or something with a little more expansion tendancies? If you are shooting something other than solids....why are you shooting them?

Years ago, back before steel shot was even thought of, I watched my dad nearly decapate a small buck with a load of Super-X #6's out of a 16ga at about 10 steps.
That was all the proof I ever needed...

I killed a big sow with a load of #4 Heavishot at about 10-15', dropped her like she'd been pole axed.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

    did you read Lone Survivor?
do you think a load of 8's at 10 yards would have stopped those guys?

I read it. And yes I do think 8's would have stopped them at 30 feet a lot quicker than FMJs would even in a 30 caliber. They may not stop someone with body armor and a wide open choke. But with a tight choke and no body armor they would. Especially shots to the face or legs then the face would make them dead.

I've cut several turkey's head's off with #7 shot back when I reloaded and they made #7's. They were farther than 30' too. I also killed a fat doe once with one shot of #6 lead shot while duck hunting in GA. She was around the same distance away, bout 30'.

When I was about 12 yrs old a friend of mine's estranged dad got drunk and tried to break into their house with a gun after first cutting the phone lines. He was trying to get to his ex-wife, my friend's mom. My friend handed his mom his single shot .410 with a load of 6's in the pipe. She shot the guy in the shoulder through the screen door and the blast knocked him back onto the carport floor. The #6 almost cut his arm off. The docs couldn't save it and had to amputate at the shoulder.

Jimmy (quackhead11) knows my friend really well.

#4 buck is the most lethal load that will not penetrate modern walls. I'm not shooting anyone with 8s unless that's all I have
Seeing these soulless vanilla ice lookin Yankees on a bassboat is worse than watching a woman get her implants taken out. It's just wrong. Get back in your Lund and go back to infisherman.

They leave them in the vehicle unless they are breaching a door. Carbines have replaced shotguns in almost every application.
