Contact Bill, this guy, wcrites or his wife at the National Society. It's actually across the street from my office. I have a Boykin from Max, he is a smart little booger. They're also doing something with the Kershaw County Fine Arts center soon, I'm sure there will be a few dogs out.

No, just as long as he doesn't eat my wife's fancy undies I'm good. He retrieved some doves this year.

I didn't know that dog had a name, all I ever you call him was "yellow eyed devil".

You might want to check out an American Water Spaniel if you want to duck hunt with a spaniel. AWS have a double coat like a Chesapeake and can, therefore, tolerate colder water than a Boykin (they are the State dog of Wisconsin). They're the breed that was one of the ancestors of the Boykin, but they're harder to find than Boykin's are.
I'd be happy for you to come to Wedgefield and look at one of ours.

Jess and I were discussing him yesterday. He's great with just me, put him with three kids, there will be issues. I know he'll be great with doves, but he'll never beat my old Chocolate. I just can't see him breaking ice, standing while icepops form on his hair, and hunt the flooded timber that I do. There's just no way of getting around it. Willk saw one of Bailey's last retrieves. Pretending I'll get that out of any dog is just a dream.

Slowie I was out with him the other day working with him at the river.. He did listen to me more than that other Boykin who's owner keeps a shock collar on all day, and let's him ride in his lap.

What are the pros and cons. Let me hear them.

Also would like to add that I am open to other suggestions and reasons to chose that breed.
Banded I can't help but notice that you've not been back in a while. I can only assume that you've decided to accept the change to your life that you spoke of. If you have then I commend you and wish you luck on the extensive background checks that will follow. I mean these are finely tuned hunting machines that we speek of which demand only the best in owners / handlers. Good luck and have fun.
