    Default E-collar won't hold charge

I have an older sport dog collar that will not hold a charge and dies in 30-60min.
Is this a common problem as collars gets older?
Is replacing the batteries the fix to this? If so is it worth replacing or better to get a new/better unit?

It all depends if you are happy with the collar that you have , do you want to spend the money on batteries or upgrade to a newer model collar. All batteries eventually have to be replaced , contact sport dog and talk to there customer service . Personally I am not a fan but they have brought out some better products over the last couple of years.

Unfortunately you probably are better to just get a new one.

Collar Clinic is fine but you'll still have a POS Sport Dog collar when they fix it. Just trash it and PM HuntinCosta. He'll get you hooked up with a good Dogtra.

PS - He will probably try to hit on you because he's gayer than Aids, but just tell him you're straight and he'll leave you alone......

Is there a reason in particular everyone is for dogtra?

I've had several of both and other brands and my current collars are Dogtra.

Tritronics used to be the only game in town, They were expensive and not really very well designed....clumsy transmitters with a couple buttons that needed aftermarket shrouds to prevent accidental stimulations, etc. When the competition appeared, Tritronics was slow to react and innovate. Their stuff is better now but only because they were pushed. I'm using Dogtra now mostly because the specific model suits me. Tritronics and Dogtra are about even as far as quality now and it's a matter of features that would decide my choice.

You can replace the battery. I replaced the battery on my older sport dog collar for about 7 bucks on Amazon.

I did and it was about $60 to put new batteries in. I ended up buying a new garmin/tritronics unit that.
