45.00 frogg toggs will do you just fine.

if you can spend the money on Simms or Cabelas..breathables. YOu will enjoy your time on the water that much more..$200 is the price range I would try to get into for entry level waders...my .02

I had a pair of simms for around 6 years and had zero complaints. Went to the river one day 2 years ago and had a leak in the crotch, so I went down to the fly shop to buy a new pair, but they didn't have a pair of simms to fit me. I ended up buying the frog toggs for like $60 just to get through the weekend. I am still using them and have had zero leaks. They are a little baggy, but other than that I can't complain

The only difference is the walking.

Hiking in the mountains with heavy, clunky wader boots sucks.

Duck hunting waders in rocky mountain streams suck donkey balls!! I busted my ass so many times I drove my ass to the closest fly shop and bought a pair of simms and never looked back.

    This.

Boot foot waders are shit for slick rocks. Felt soles are where it's at.

Due to didymo algae (rock snot) spreading, felt soled wading boots are banned in more states every year

    That is true.

They're the tits for slippery rocks, though.

If I were to buy a pair of waders just for trout fishing, it would be boot foot breathables.

Match the shoe to the terrain and applicable laws. Felt, or lug sole.

Or, you can just skin it.
