Default The Good/Bad/Ugly - Any Insight Appreciated

As long as a fella doesn't buy this tonight, then it is pretty much as good as mine. I tried to persuade the seller with a picture of cash, but he said he'd still honor his prior engagement with the other fella he spoke to.

It's a '99 and 14' long. He stated the only problems are an intermittent aerator (bad ground probably) and new stereo speakers that won't put out sound.

Has a new battery and fish finder.

I had a 175 Sportfish for years and had no problems. I just don't know anything about the little Scouts.

Awesome little boats! I had a 15ft Scout sportfish and it was a great riding boat. Never had the first problem with it. It's the only boat I wish I never sold.

Good - Love that boat, the older 14-16ft scouts were well made. My dad used to be a scout dealer and I caught a bunch of fish in that boat.

Bad - Not gonna lie I would be a little skeptical about that Johnson, plus very tough to find parts for those OMC products.

I've had a few tell me they were nearly bulletproof and parts are everywhere...?

I'm anxious to see what Traffic Jams will do for a stereo in it.

I have never had trouble finding parts, theres a few online stores I shop for price and they usually have what Im looking for. They are pretty strong motors. I had a 40 pop but that was my fault for loaning it to my bro in law...I thought everyone knew you couldn't drive through sand bard and spend an hour on the throttle trying to get off.

He said it was fine. Just shake like hell and tap with the back of a screwdriver and listen for soft spot sounds?

Tilt it all the way up then pull up and make sure it is solid.

LOL, for some reason, I think this one will last a while and get used often.

Odd...I didn't know these little things had a 6'6" beam. Should be pretty damned stable.

Opinion: The motor's ugly. The boat is beautiful. Trailers are a necessary evil.

Yea, not a real fan of the motor, either. However, the boat sounds to be well cared for. 1:10 away...
