Default F150 rear differential leaking vibrations

Need recommendations on a decent shop in the Charleston area to get my 08 f150 with 80k miles rear end looked at. When I drive between 20 and 40mph I've got a vibration and it has started leaking at the rear dif seal. I'm guessing the bearings are shit along with the seal. Looks like the seal is coming completely out of the dif

call the guys at Coastal Automotive in Awendaw, just past wando high school on 17. Pretty decent guys to deal with.

Edit: if you are in summerville that may be a little far for ya.

Something cause that seal to walk. If pinion bearing has any shavings at all behind crush sleeve it will heat that seal and push it out.

1200 give or take. Depends on carrier and clutch wear

The leaking isn't too scary but the vibrations might be a bad sign. I had a rear-wheel-drive Explorer the needed the pinion seal replaced a couple of times. I don't remember how much but it was cheaper than I expected - replacement fluid was the most expensive part of the job. I got it done at a Ford place that had a resident transmission shop. I think they prefer their transmission folks to work on differentials.

If it were me, I'd find a good Ford place with a transmission shop. The Ford place on Greystone in Columbia does good work - but that's Columbia.

Could have a u-joint seized... I've seen that cause the seal to walk out before. Call the local parts store and ask them about a reputable shop.

Roberts automotive on Dorchester road a little down from Bosch and across the road- they are Ford experts from end to end and good folks too.
