    Default Training Question

I have two Catahoulas...both great dogs that are also family pets. Will training them in obedience (heel, stay, etc) negatively affect their hunting drive? I know this sounds silly, but I had an older fella tell me that hunting dogs work better if they aren't trained to do anything except get in the dog box or boat. That doesn't sound right to me, so I thought I would ask the experts...

I don't think it will matter. Especially if they will already find a hog. If you teach them commands and then catch a hog and praise them, you will have some good dogs.
