    Default Keep in mind......

    Tree stands are dangerous
    Hanging them is dangerous
    Taking them down is dangerous
Climbing up in them is dangerous
    Sitting in them is dangerous
Standing up in them is dangerous
Falling out of them will kill you

Even if nobody here likes you, somebody somewhere probably does

    Wear your safety harness

No, but after hanging my last Loc On a few days ago and fighting with those raggedy ass muddy climbing sticks trying to get them tight, I figured I'd throw that out there. LOL

Yes. Just make sure you use the proper type of line, both for the main line and the attachments... or use the right rock climbing or arborist gear, etc.

Almost as important as wearing the harness is having a plan if you happen to fall while wearing it. Dangling there for hours ain't an option. You need to be able to get back on your feet ASAP.

I know that's long winded......maybe a mnemonic device would help if that's your thing.

If you've been saying "I need to change those steps out" on the ladder up to your tower stand, now is the time to do it. Learning you waited to long after you spray the football sized wasp nest and need to get down in a hurry isn't fun.

Bought a 3-pack of the Lifeline ropes this year and put them on my lock-ons. Pretty slick. Won't get in a stand without one from now on. Too easy.

I wear my safety harness everytime in the tree.

My question about Life lines is....what do you wear when you go up the tree to attach life line?
