Why are lead throwers even allowed to vote in the poll? They don't know jack shit about throwing arrows.

Never heard of them before last week, but I think anything that reduces the risk of losing an animal, or puts an animal out of its misery that has been wounded, but not mortally, has its place. Just as with anything, however, it should be used responsibly, not as justification to take sketchy shots. Still need to practice often and use good judgement when taking a shot.

I think you know that it would not be used in a responsible fashion. I can picture every inbred dumb fuck in the state slinging poison arrows at 80 yds. "this here arrow in poison tipped, I can kill a deer at 100 yds bo!'' I can only imagine how terrible it would be. Maybe we can start hunting cormrants from helicopters too!

Based on what Trent was posting earlier this week, it is already legal on private land in SC. I haven't done any research to confirm or deby. Maybe DT is pushing legislation to make it illegal. Perhaps he actually wants to know what outdoorsment think before doing anything.

Just because something isn't going to be used reasonably by some doesn't mean I shouldn't be trusted with it. This is the whole mentality of gun control advocates that we claim to hate so much.

I'd use 'em and I'd still extremely limit my shot selection guidelines based on my limitations with a bow (under 20 yards, broadside only, well lighted conditions).

I'm not a purist and I don't care who doesn't like the things in which I approve.

Exact comparison I was going to make.

It's a molded piece of plastic that fits over the arrow shaft with a balloon stretched over it. As it enters the animal, the balloon is pushed back releasing the powder.
